Regular Season Round 17: Guangsha L. - Jilin NE T. 116-95

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Jilin Tigers (9-8) were outleveled by third ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (14-3) in Hangzhou 116-95. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Jilin Tigers' 48. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions forced 22 Jilin Tigers turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Courtney Fortson (180-88, college: Arkansas, agency: Three Eye Sports) who scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). His fellow American import power forward Elijah Holman (208-89, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Malcolm Thomas (206-88, college: San Diego St.) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 19 rebounds and Iranian point guard Mahdi Kamrani (181-82) added 21 points respectively for the guests. Five Zhejiang Guangsha Lions and four Jilin Tigers players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions moved-up to second place, which they share with Guangdong ST and Xinjiang FT. Jilin Tigers at the other side dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions' next round opponent will be Liaoning Hunters (#5) in Yingkou. Jilin Tigers will play on the road against Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank in Hangzhou and hope to win that game.
