Regular Season Round 11: Trefl Sopot - PGE Turow 75-73

The most exciting game of round 11 in the PLK took place in Sopot. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-ranked PGE Turow (8-4) to ninth ranked Trefl (7-5) 75-73 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of PGE Turow. The best player for the winners was Serbian power forward Nikola Markovic (208-89) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Swingman Jakub Karolak (196-93, agency: BeoExcell) chipped in 16 points. Four Trefl players scored in double figures. American center Kirk Archibeque (205-84, college: Fort Lewis) produced 16 points and international swingman Michal Michalak (197-93) added 17 points respectively for the guests. PGE Turow's coach Matthias Fischer rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Trefl moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. PGE Turow at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. They share it with MKS DG. Trefl is looking forward to face AZS Koszalin (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. PGE Turow will play against the league's second-placed Stelmet (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
