Regular Season Round 13: Gorizont - Olimpia 86-61

An interesting game for Gorizont (11-1) which hosted in Minsk 3rd placed Olimpia GrGAU (9-3). First ranked Gorizont had an easy win 86-61. The game was mostly controlled by Gorizont. Olimpia GrGAU was better in fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gorizont shot 19 for 28 from the free-throw line, while Olimpia GrGAU only scored two points from the stripe. Gorizont forced 20 Olimpia GrGAU turnovers and outrebounded them 45-30 including 31 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The former international forward Yuliya Rytsikava (181-86) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and the former international center Marina Kress (196-80) chipped in 13 points and 10 rebounds. Four Gorizont players scored in double figures. At the losing side Maryia Rashchenia (186-92) responded with 10 points and 7 rebounds and forward Natallia Dashkevich (188-88) scored 10 points. Olimpia GrGAU's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Gorizont. Defending champion maintains first place with 11-1 record. Olimpia GrGAU at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost.
