Regular Season Round 15: COR-Borisfen - Brest 95-57

Very expected game in Mogilev where 8th ranked Brest (2-11) was crushed by leader COR-Borisfen (11-0) 95-57 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by COR-Borisfen. Brest managed to win fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. COR-Borisfen dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Brest's 32. COR-Borisfen forced 19 Brest turnovers and outrebounded them 43-32 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was center Pavel Bliznets (210-94) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds. Forward Maksim Sazonau (202-96) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four COR-Borisfen players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Pavel Moroz (193-88) who recorded 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Alexei Stepura (189-93) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for COR-Borisfen. They maintain second place with 11-0 record having 2 victories less than leader Grodno-93. Brest lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the bottom position with 11 games lost. They share it with BSEU-GrandPrint and GOCOR-Sozh. COR-Borisfen will again meet at home bottom-ranked Brest (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Brest will have a break next round.
