Regular Season Round 24: Toyota Alvark - Hokkaido L. 82-73

There was no surprise in Tokyo where 6th ranked Hokkaido L. (6-19) was defeated by first ranked Toyota Alvark (19-4) 82-73 on Friday. Hokkaido L. was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Toyota Alvark forced 20 Hokkaido L. turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Diante Garrett (196-88, college: Iowa St.) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 steals (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and swingman Zack Baranski (193-92) who added 20 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Toyota Alvark's coach Takuma Ito used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The best for the losing side was guard Asahi Tajima (173-88) with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) scored 8 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Toyota Alvark maintains first position with 19-4 record. Hokkaido L. lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 19 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
