Regular Season Round 11: Batumi - Rustavi 71-68

The most exciting game of round 11 in the Superleague took place in Batumi. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Energy Invest (6-4) to fifth ranked Batumi (6-5) 71-68 on Friday evening. The hosts trailed by 10 points at the halftime before their 42-29 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was international Besik Lezhava (192-86, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Ukrainian point guard Illya Shemosiuk (188-85) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Batumi players scored in double figures. Center Sergo Atuashvili (223-85) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 17 rebounds and American guard Casey Kasperbauer (185, college: S.Dakota) added 16 points respectively for the guests. Energy Invest's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Batumi moved-up to fourth place. Energy Invest at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. Batumi are looking forward to face league's second-placed Kutaisi on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Energy Invest will play against Mgzavrebi in Tbilisi and is hoping to win this game.
