Regular Season Round 13: Le Portel - Chalon 74-83

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Chalon/Saor (10-3) won against on the road 11th ranked Le Portel (5-8) 83-74 on Friday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-74. It was a great shooting night for Chalon/Saor especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Chalon/Saor made 7 blocks. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Lance Harris (195-84, college: Kansas St.) stepped up and scored 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and swingman Cameron Clark (201-91, college: Oklahoma) chipped in 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side center Jakim Donaldson (204-83, college: Edinboro) responded with 12 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Darrin Dorsey (188-87, college: Dakota Wesleyan) scored 16 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Le Portel's coach Eric Girard rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Chalon/Saor maintains second place with 10-3 record behind leader Monaco. Loser Le Portel dropped to the twelfth position with eight games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Chalon/Saor will meet at home Strasbourg IG (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Le Portel will play against Paris-Levallois and hope to secure a win.
