There was a minor upset when 12th ranked Boulazac Basket (4-6) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked ALM Evreux (4-6) 75-69 on Friday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-16. But Boulazac Basket won second period 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ALM Evreux made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. ALM Evreux outrebounded Boulazac Basket 37-22 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Caleb Walker (194-89, college: Nebraska) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized Algerian point guard Samir Mekdad (191-86) chipped in 14 points. American power forward Jarvis Williams (198-93, college: Murray St.) produced 16 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Anthony Roberson (188-83, college: Florida) added 16 points respectively for lost side. Four Boulazac Basket players scored in double figures. ALM Evreux moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Poitiers and Boulazac. ALM Evreux will face higher ranked Denain Voltaire (#6) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
