Regular Season Round 18: Qingdao E. - Bayi R. 98-90

Rather predictable result when thirteenth ranked Qingdao Eagles (7-11) defeated at home 17th ranked Bayi Rockets (3-15) 98-90 on Friday. Bayi Rockets were plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) scored 34 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Chengyu Zhang (193-89) chipped in 21 points during the contest. Qingdao Eagles' coach XiaoBin Gong used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was center Hao Fu (206-97) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Shuo Han (196-86) scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. Four Bayi Rockets players scored in double figures. Qingdao Eagles maintains thirteenth position with 7-11 record, which they share with TianJin S. Bayi Rockets lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighteenth place with 15 games lost. Qingdao Eagles will face higher ranked Shandong Bulls (#10) in Jinan in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Bayi Rockets will play at home against Shanxi Zhongyu (#7) and hope to win that game.
