Everything went according to plan when eleventh ranked Beijing Ducks (10-8) outscored at home 18th ranked Fujian (3-15) 116-90 on Friday. Beijing Ducks forced 20 Fujian turnovers. Fujian was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international forward Xiaochuan Zhai (205-93) scored 38 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) chipped in 28 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was international Zhelin Wang (215-94) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and international swingman TaiLong Zhao (193-90) scored 21 points. Five Fujian players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Beijing Ducks moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Shanxi Zh. Fujian lost thirteenth consecutive game. They keep the eighteenth position with 15 games lost. Beijing Ducks will face Sichuan BW (#9) on the road in the next round. Fujian will play against North Control (#16) in Beijing and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
