The game in Leeuwarden was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Dukes UDB (6-7) played at the court of 6th ranked Leeuwarden (4-9). Dukes UDB did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 78-61 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Dukes UDB. Leeuwarden managed to win third quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dukes UDB dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Leeuwarden's 30. They outrebounded Leeuwarden 44-28 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Charles Mitchell (203, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Three Eye Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. International forward Ralf Pagter Ralf (200-89) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Dukes UDB's coach Sander van der Holst used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard George Marshall (186-92, college: S.Dakota St.) produced 20 points and 5 assists and the other American import guard Jordan Gregory (188-92, college: Montana) added 18 points respectively for lost side. Dukes UDB moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Amsterdam. Loser Leeuwarden dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. Dukes UDB will meet at home bottom-ranked Weert (#8) in the next round. Leeuwarden will play against Amsterdam and hope to secure a win.
