Regular Season Round 19: Indios - Fuerza Regia 87-94

LNBP top team - Fuerza Regia (19-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat ninth ranked Ciudad (6-13) in Ciudad Juarez 94-87. Fuerza Regia made 27-of-33 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game, while Ciudad only scored eleven points from the stripe. It was a great evening for Nigerian center Jeleel Akindele (216-83, college: Chicago St., agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). The former international Hector Hernandez (205-85, college: Fresno St., agency: Pro Sports) helped adding 18 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). At the losing side forward Jorge Camacho (203-89, college: E.Kentucky) responded with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international power forward Arim Solares (202-83) scored 19 points and 4 assists. Five Fuerza Regia and four Ciudad players scored in double figures. Fuerza Regia have an impressive series of nineteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 19-0 record. Ciudad at the other side dropped to the eighth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Abejas. Fuerza Regia will play against bottom-ranked Correcaminos (#10) in Ciudad Victoria in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ciudad will play on the road against Abejas in Guanajuato and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
