Al Shamal can celebrate their first win this season after two consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Doha, where they edged Al Sadd (1-2) 69-68 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 22-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Al Shamal outrebounded Al Sadd 42-30 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Mohamed Haras who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points and 24 rebounds and American guard Justin Tubbs (190-87, college: E.Tenn.St.) who added 17 points and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side international swingman Khalid Abdi (198-87) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Moustafa Essam Fouda (174-97) scored 15 points and 5 assists. Five Al Sadd players scored in double figures. Al Shamal left bottom position moving up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Al Sadd.
