Not a big story in a game in Czestochowa where 13th ranked AZS PCz (3-11) was defeated by third ranked Polonia Bytom (11-3) 88-84 on Saturday. Polonia Bytom outrebounded AZS PCz 35-22 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for center Piotr Wojdyr (217-90, agency: Promotex) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Grzegorz Zadecki (195-83) helped adding 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was swingman Mateusz Gazarkiewicz (193-91) with 21 points and 6 steals and guard Michal Orlikowski (175-90) scored 15 points and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Polonia Bytom. They moved-up to second place, which they share with AZS AWF Mick. AZS PCz lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Polonia Bytom will face Wisla Krakow (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. AZS PCz will play against AZS KU PO in Opole and hope to win that game.
