Regular Season Round 11: Holargos - Ethnikos 66-69

A very close game took place in Holargos (derby !!!) between Ethnikos and Holargos. Sixth ranked Ethnikos (7-4) got a very close victory on the road over 9th ranked Holargos (4-7). Ethnikos managed to escape with a 3-point win 69-66 on Saturday evening. The best player for the winners was swingman Paraskeva Martzos (197-85) who scored 21 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Swingman Nikos Kokkalis (198-85) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. Four Ethnikos players scored in double figures. Naturalized Serbian guard Igor Milosevic (193-86, agency: BeoBasket) produced 20 points and 4 assists and forward Nikos Angelopoulos (205-84, agency: Interperformances) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Holargos' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Ethnikos moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Faros. Loser Holargos dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Ethnikos will meet at home Arkadikos (#8) in the next round. Holargos will play against the league's leader Panionios in Athens and hope to secure a win.
