Regular Season Round 24: Shimane SM - Toyotsu FE 78-48

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked Toyotsu FE (17-6) on the court of second ranked Shimane Magic on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Shimane Magic 78-48. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Shimane Magic led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Toyotsu FE to an opponent 23.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 42.3 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Toyotsu FE 47-36 including a 38-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Jamaican-American power forward Ryan Reid (204-86, college: Florida St.) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) contributed with 8 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Nigerian center Solomon Alabi (216-88, college: Florida St.) replied with 9 points and 13 rebounds and American forward Rodney Carney (201-84, college: Memphis) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Toyotsu FE. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shimane Magic (18-5) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain second position having just one point less than leader Kumamoto V., which they share with Hiroshima D. Toyotsu FE lost third consecutive game. They still keep top place with six games lost. They share the position with Gunma. Shimane Magic is again looking forward to face league's leader Toyotsu FE in Nagoya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Toyotsu FE will have a break next round.
