Regular Season Round 13: Azuqueca - Casvi 81-75

There was a minor upset when 4th placed Casvi (8-5) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Azuqueca (8-5) 81-75 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-75. Azuqueca had a 32-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Serbian power forward Branislav Tomic (205-80) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Venezuelan forward Luis Valera (202-88, college: UTRGV, agency: Duran International) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Jose Miguel Perez (202-96) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and guard Guim Exposito (197-94) added 13 points, 6 assists and 5 steals respectively for lost side. Four Azuqueca and five Casvi players scored in double figures. Casvi's coach Jose Antonio Sanchez let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Azuqueca moved-up to fifth place in Group B, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Casvi. Azuqueca will face Quintanar (#9) on the road in the next round. Casvi will play against Real Madrid II (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
