There was a small surprise when fifth ranked Sendai 89ers (7-17) beat on the road 5th ranked Yokohama BC (8-16) 76-64 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 26-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Sendai 89ers outrebounded Yokohama BC 54-37 including 19 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Wendell White (198-84, college: UNLV) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds and South African center Tshilidzi Nephawe (208-89, college: N.Mexico St.) who added 14 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American-Bulgarian center Jason Washburn (210-90, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) with 19 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Sendai 89ers moved-up to fourth place. Loser Yokohama BC keeps the fifth position with 16 games lost. Sendai 89ers will have a break next round. Yokohama BC will play again at home against Sendai 89ers (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
