Regular Season Round 24: Toyota Alvark - Hokkaido L. 90-88

Sixth-ranked Hokkaido L. (6-19) gave a tough game to first ranked Toyota Alvark (19-4) in Tokyo on Saturday. Toyota Alvark managed to secure only two-point victory 90-88. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-88. Toyota Alvark shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Daiki Tanaka (191-91) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from downtown making all five shots) and American point guard Diante Garrett (196-88, college: Iowa St.) who added 10 points and 6 assists during the contest. Five Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists and international forward Takanobu Nishikawa (195-92) scored 33 points (!!!). Toyota Alvark maintains first position with 19-4 record. Hokkaido L. lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 19 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
