Very important is a road loss of first ranked Gunma (17-6) against fifth ranked Bambitious Nara (7-16) on Saturday night. Visiting Gunma was defeated by Bambitious Nara in Nara 79-69. Gunma was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 51-38 second half run of Bambitious Nara. The best player for the winners was guard Atsunobu Hirao (178-89) who scored 20 points. American forward John Flowers (200-89, college: W.Virginia) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Nigerian forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Masashi Obuchi (182-83) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bambitious Nara moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Tokyo Excel.
