Regular Season Round 24: Kumamoto V. - Tokyo Z 90-81

An interesting game for Kumamoto V. (20-3) which hosted in Kumamoto 3rd ranked Tokyo Z (9-14). First ranked Kumamoto V. managed to get a 9-point victory 90-81. Tokyo Z trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 25-20 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 81-90 at the end of the game. Kumamoto V. shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 73.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for guard Yuji Kanbara (183-89) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) contributed with 12 points and 7 assists for the winners. American guard Deon Jones (198-93, college: Monmouth) replied with 17 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Shota Watanabe (180-93) added 15 points and 5 assists in the effort for Tokyo Z. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kumamoto V. have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 20-3 record. Tokyo Z lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with 14 games lost. Kumamoto V. will face again Tokyo Z (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
