Regular Season Round 13: La Roda - Torrelodones 86-70

Very predictable result when third ranked La Roda (9-4) beat at home 14th ranked Torrelodones (2-9) 86-70 on Saturday. The game without a history. La Roda led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Torrelodones' 26. La Roda forced 20 Torrelodones turnovers and outrebounded them 35-20 including a 26-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Torrelodones was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Senegalese power forward Michel Diouf (208-90) fired 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Norman Rey (203-87) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. Alejandro Herreros (189-96) produced 13 points and 6 assists and guard Pedro Robles (192-77) added 18 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) respectively for lost side. Torrelodones' coach Dani Gomez let to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. La Roda moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with Real Madrid II. Torrelodones lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with nine games lost. La Roda will face Estudiantes B (#13) in Madrid in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Torrelodones will play at home against Viten Fuen. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
