Regular Season Round 13: Myrtia - Cartagena 87-55

Everything went according to plan in Murcia where first ranked Myrtia (10-1) outleveled 5th ranked Cartagena (5-6) 87-55 on Saturday. The game without a history. Myrtia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Myrtia looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Cartagena's players. Forward Jorge Lledo (203-80) fired 25 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Juan Ballesta (181-92) chipped in 12 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Five Myrtia players scored in double figures. American forward Tylor Wimbish (201-93, college: Mo.-St.Louis) produced 5 points and 18 rebounds and forward Javier Santabarbara (197-95) added 13 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Myrtia maintains first place in Group E with 10-1 record. Loser Cartagena dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. Myrtia will face Sagunto (#6) in Gilet in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Cartagena will play at home against Lliria and hope to win that game.
