Another exciting game was played in Lugo between sixth ranked Araberri and 7th ranked Leche Rio Breogan where Araberri (10-5) beat Leche Rio Breogan (9-6) on the road 88-80. It looked good early as Leche Rio Breogan took a 16-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Araberri took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 8 points. They made 26-of-33 charity shots (78.8 percent) during the game, while Leche Rio Breogan only scored nine points from the stripe. Leche Rio Breogan was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American-Nigerian guard Zaid Hearst (193, college: Quinnipiac) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Ivan Garcia (206-86) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Nigerian-American forward Michael Fakuade (201-89, college: Ill.-Springfield) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and American center Matt Stainbrook (208-92, college: Xavier, agency: Three Eye Sports) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Leche Rio Breogan. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Leche Rio Breogan's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Araberri have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Burgos and Forca Lleida. Leche Rio Breogan lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Ourense and Coruna. Araberri will play against league's leader Oviedo CB at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Leche Rio Breogan will play against Barca II (#18) in Barcelona and hopes to get back on the winning track.
