Regular Season Round 13: Gravelines - Antibes 75-67
Date: December 17, 2016
No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (7-6) defeated at home 17th ranked Olympique Antibes (4-9) 75-67 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-15. But Olympique Antibes won second period 24-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Kyle Gibson (196-87, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: BeoBasket) stepped up and scored 23 points for the winners and his fellow American import guard Justin Cobbs (191-91, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 17 points (made all of his seven free throws). Four Gravelines-Dunkerque players scored in double figures. At the losing side American Tim Blue (205-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Nigerian center Chris Otule (211-90, college: Marquette) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Olympique Antibes' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Gravelines-Dunkerque have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Olympique Antibes dropped to the sixteenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Dijon. Gravelines-Dunkerque will meet at home higher ranked JSF Nanterre (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
