Regular Season Round 15: AZS PP - AZS UMK Torun 62-93

Not a big story in a game in Poznan where 11th ranked AZS PP (2-12) was rolled over by second ranked AZS UMK Torun (10-4) 93-62 on Saturday. AZS UMK Torun dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to AZS PP's 36. They outrebounded AZS PP 51-36 including 17 on the offensive glass. AZS UMK Torun looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for Radoslaw Plebanek (190-85) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Karol Tomczyk (192-90) helped adding 15 points and 6 rebounds. Five AZS UMK Torun players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Mateusz Rutkowski (178-93) with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Maciej Krzyminski (184-97) scored 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AZS UMK Torun maintains second place with 10-4 record having just one point less than leader Syntex Ksiezak. AZS PP lost their sixth game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with 12 games lost. AZS UMK Torun will face Suchy Las (#11) in Poznan in the next round and are hoping to win another game. AZS PP will play on the road against AZS PGd in Gdansk and hope to win that game.
