Regular Season Round 13: USE Basket - Oleggio 71-59

Everything went according to plan in Empoli where sixth ranked USE Basket (7-5) beat 14th ranked Oleggio (5-8) 71-59 on Saturday. USE Basket made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. USE Basket outrebounded Oleggio 40-29 including 27 on the defensive glass. Guard Daniele Mariotti (186-84) stepped up and scored 18 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) for the winners and forward Filippo Mascagni (195-93) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. USE Basket's coach Giovanni Bassi used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side forward Edoardo Gallazzi (200-86) responded with 18 points and center Stefano Colombo (200-95) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. USE Basket moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Oleggio dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. USE Basket will face Firenze Enic (#16) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Oleggio will play against the league's leader Omegna (#1) and hope to win that game.
