Regular Season Round 13: Avila - Zornotza 83-61

Not a big story in a game in Avila where 7th ranked Zornotza (7-6) was rolled over by fourth ranked Fontedoso Carrefour (9-4) 83-61 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Fontedoso Carrefour. Zornotza was better in fourth quarter 21-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Zornotza to just 7 points in first quarter. It was a great shooting night for Fontedoso Carrefour especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. American forward Connor Beranek (198-94, college: Nebraska-Kearney, agency: Duran International) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and British William Hall (201-91, agency: Dynamics Global Management) chipped in 8 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side Norwegian Nikolas Skouen (193-90, college: Pepperdine, agency: Duran International) responded with 16 points and Serbian power forward Vasilije Vucetic (209-96) scored 18 points. Zornotza's coach Mikel Garitaonandia gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Fontedoso Carrefour keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Granada and Lucentum. Loser Zornotza keeps the seventh place with six games lost. Fontedoso Carrefour will face Sammic ISB (#6) in Azpeitia in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Zornotza will play at home against Alcazar and hope to win that game.
