Serie A2 top team - Sesto SG (11-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed thirteenth ranked Cagliari CUS (1-10) in Sesto San Giovanni 80-46. The game without a history. Sesto SG led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Cagliari CUS's 30. They outrebounded Cagliari CUS 41-25 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a quality performance of guard Virginia Galbiati (173-92, agency: SPORTlab Agency) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 steals and Beatrice Barberis (178-95) who added 14 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Sesto SG players scored in double figures. Sesto SG's coach Cinzia Zanotti felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was forward Angela Dettori (182-96) with 13 points and 5 rebounds and Lithuanian Julita Bungaite (187-87, college: Hawaii, agency: Promotex) scored 13 points. Sesto SG maintains first position with 11-1 record. Cagliari CUS lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Salerno. Sesto SG are looking forward to face Scrivia (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Cagliari CUS's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Cagliari Virtus Cagliari.
