Very predictable result when second ranked Empoli (10-2) defeated on the road 10th ranked Virtus Cagliari (4-8) 65-56 on Saturday. Virtus Cagliari trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 13-10 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 56-65 at the end of the game. It was a great shooting night for Empoli especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 60.0 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Francesca Rosellini (176-90) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and Czech center Klara Pochobradska (186-89) who added 11 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Empoli's coach Alessio Cioni used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The best for the losing side was the former international power forward Silvia Sarni (188-87) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and the former international guard Elisa Templari (172-89, agency: LBM Management) scored 17 points.
