Regular Season Round 15: AZS AWF Mick. - Pogon RS 91-51

Very expected game in Katowice where 8th ranked Pogon RS (5-8) was crushed by second ranked AZS AWF Mick. (11-3) 91-51 on Saturday. AZS AWF Mick. forced 21 Pogon RS turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Pogon RS's players. It was a great evening for forward Kamil Nowak (197-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 7 rebounds. Mariusz Piotrkowski (198-84) helped adding 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four AZS AWF Mick. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Tomasz Stankala (202-91) with 19 points and forward Aleksander Maslanka (195-91) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AZS AWF Mick. maintains second place with 11-3 record behind leader Syntex Ksiezak, which they share with Polonia Bytom. Pogon RS lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with eight games lost. AZS AWF Mick. will face league's leader AZS PK in Krakow in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Pogon RS will play at home against Zaglebie (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
