Regular Season Round 14: Espoo Team - Catz 61-62

The most exciting game of round 14 in the SM-sarja took place in Espoo. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 7th ranked Espoo Team (5-9) to fifth ranked Catz Lappeenranta (8-7) 62-61 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Espoo Team. Espoo Team was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Catz Lappeenranta forced 20 Espoo Team turnovers. The best player for the winners was Russian forward Elena Reshetko (184-86) who scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Samarie Walker (185-92, college: Kentucky, agency: Two Points) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Tierra Henderson (178-87, college: UCLA) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and international swingman Lotta Aaltonen (180-85, college: Coker) added 18 points and 4 blocks respectively for the hosts. Espoo Team's coach Niko Hellman rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Kouvot. Espoo Team at the other side keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Huima and PeKa. Catz Lappeenranta is looking forward to face Aanekosken (#7) in Aanekoski in the next round. Espoo Team will play on the road against the league's leader HyPo in Hyvinkaa and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
