Regular Season Round 11: CFBB - SIG 51-58

Not a big story in a game in Paris where 12th ranked CFBB (2-9) was defeated by eighth ranked SIG (6-5) 58-51. CFBB was ahead by 5 points after three quarters before a 22-10 charge of SIG, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 20 CFBB turnovers. Strangely CFBB outrebounded SIG 48-32 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Point guard Kathleen Bourdin (162-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 12 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Center Celine Schmitt-Sender (185-80) contributed with 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Tima Pouye (176-99) answered with 9 points and 5 rebounds and forward Kadiatou Sissoko (180-99) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for CFBB. CFBB's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. SIG moved-up to sixth place, which they share with COB Calais and Toulouse. CFBB lost their third game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with nine games lost. They share it with Limoges and Roannais. SIG will play against higher ranked Bretagne Basket (#3) in Pleyber-Christ in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. CFBB will play on the road against Limoges (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
