Regular Season Round 11: Dunkerque - Aulnoye 52-68

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Aulnoye and 11th ranked Dunkerque had identical 3-7 record. But Dunkerque was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Aulnoye 68-52. The game was mostly controlled by Aulnoye. Dunkerque was better in fourth quarter 21-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Dunkerque to just 7 points in second quarter. Aulnoye forced 23 Dunkerque turnovers and outrebounded them 36-18 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Point guard Clementine Morateur (176-95) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized DR Congolese forward Lorraine Lokoka (184-89) contributed with 14 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Aulnoye players scored in double figures. Aulnoye's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Latvian center Aija Brumermane (192-86) answered with 11 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Aline Dumont (169-95) added 5 points and 9 assists in the effort for Dunkerque. Aulnoye (4-7) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Montbrison. Dunkerque lost their third game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with eight games lost. Aulnoye will play against higher ranked Arras (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dunkerque will play against Montbrison (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
