Regular Season Round 23: Fujitsu RW - Mitsubishi K. 58-80

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Fujitsu RW (17-4) against sixth ranked Mitsubishi K. (13-8) on Saturday night. Host Fujitsu RW was crushed by Mitsubishi K. in Kawasaki 80-58. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Fujitsu RW. The game was mostly controlled by Mitsubishi K.. Fujitsu RW was better in third quarter 24-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mitsubishi K. had a 35-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Mitsubishi K. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Power forward Yuka Kosuge (180-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Yeliunai Genben (173-95) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. International point guard Rui Machida (161-93) answered with 17 points and 4 assists and the former international forward Moeko Nagaoka (180-93) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Fujitsu RW. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mitsubishi K. moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Chanson V-M and Denso Iris. Fujitsu RW at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. Mitsubishi K. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fujitsu RW will play again on the road against Mitsubishi K. in Nagoya and hopes to get back on the winning track.
