Regular Season Round 23: Toyota A. - Chanson V-M 70-68

Fourth-ranked Chanson V-M (13-8) made lots of trouble for third ranked Toyota A. (18-3) in Nagoya on Saturday. Toyota A. managed to secure only two-point victory 70-68. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 70-68. Toyota A. dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Chanson V-M's 28 and made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was forward Mayi Na (181-93) who scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Center Mori Binge (180-88) chipped in 10 points and 4 assists. Toyota A.'s coach Don Beck used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Minaho Minamiminoru (167-93) produced 23 points and 6 rebounds and international forward Sanae Motokawa (175-92) added 12 points and 9 assists respectively for the guests. Four Chanson V-M players scored in double figures. Toyota A. moved-up to second place. Chanson V-M at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. They share it with Denso Iris and Mitsubishi K.. Toyota A. are again looking forward to face Chanson V-M (#4) in Shizuoka in the next round. Chanson V-M will have a break next round.
