Regular Season Round 23: Denso Iris - JX-Eneos S. 64-85

Undefeated leader JX-Eneos S. delivered the twenty first consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 5th ranked Denso Iris (13-8) 85-64 in Kariya. JX-Eneos S. dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Denso Iris' 34. JX-Eneos S. forced 20 Denso Iris turnovers and outrebounded them 46-29 including a 24-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when JX-Eneos S. made 8 blocks. It was a great evening for international forward Yuki Miyazawa (181-93, college: Queens, NY) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. The former international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (191-91) helped adding 18 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. Four JX-Eneos S. players scored in double figures. JX-Eneos S.'s coach Tom Hobasu felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Shiori Takada (171-92) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. JX-Eneos S. (21-0) have an impressive series of nineteen victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with a perfect record of 21 victories in a row. Denso Iris lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. They share it with Chanson V-M and Mitsubishi K..
