Regular Season Round 24: Kagawa FA - Aomori Watts 72-78

There was a small surprise when fifth ranked Aomori Watts (11-12) beat 5th ranked Kagawa FA (6-17) in Takamatsu 78-72 on Saturday. Kagawa FA was trailing by 10 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 23-14 charge of Aomori Watts, which allowed them to win the game. Kagawa FA was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds. The other American import center Kyle Barone (208-89, college: Idaho) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and Jamaican power forward Adrian Forbes (211-88, college: Auburn, agency: Haylett Sports) added 6 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Kagawa FA. Kagawa FA's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Aomori Watts have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 11-12 record which they share with defeated Kagawa FA. Loser Kagawa FA keeps the fifth place with 17 games lost. Aomori Watts will have a break next round. Kagawa FA will play again at home against Aomori Watts (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
