Regular Season Round 6: Toyoda Gosei - Tokyo Cinq R. 71-89

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (9-13) beat bottom-ranked Toyoda Gosei (1-9) in Aichi 89-71 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Tokyo Cinq R.. Toyoda Gosei was better in fourth quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Toyoda Gosei 42-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American power forward Eric Anderson (204-93, college: New Haven, agency: Duran International) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Kodai Takahashi (180-91) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Tokyo Cinq R. players scored in double figures. Point guard Eiji Sumihiro (171-89) replied with 19 points and 5 rebounds and guard Toshiyuki Tomita (181-85) added 9 points and 5 assists in the effort for Toyoda Gosei. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tokyo Cinq R. maintains fifth position with 9-13 record. Loser Toyoda Gosei stay at the bottom place with nine games lost. Tokyo Cinq R.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tokyo Otsuka A..
