Rather predictable result when second ranked Fukushima (17-7) defeated on the road 5th ranked Tokyo Excel. (7-17) 85-74 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 46-29 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. American guard Cedric Bozeman (198-83, college: UCLA) stepped up and scored 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and point guard Kenya Tomori (177-84) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. Fukushima's coach Tomohiro Moriyama allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American center Ryan Stephan (208-94, college: Colorado Mesa) responded with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 16 rebounds and swingman Hiroaki Tobita (187-90) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Fukushima. They maintain second place with 17-7 record behind leader Kumamoto V., which they share with Nishinomiya S. Tokyo Excel. lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the fourth position with 17 games lost. Fukushima will face league's second-placed Nishinomiya S. in Hyogo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
