Regular Season Round 25: Yamagata - Nishinomiya S. 73-89

Nishinomiya S. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. American guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) stepped up and scored 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and swingman Naoki Tani (193-88) chipped in 15 points. At the losing side American center Markhuri Sanders-Frison (203-88, college: California) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and Yuta Kojima (192-83) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Nishinomiya S. maintains second place with 17-7 record behind leader Kumamoto V., which they share with Fukushima. Loser Yamagata dropped to the third position with 12 games lost. Nishinomiya S. will face league's second-placed Fukushima on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Yamagata will play against the league's second-placed Dragonflies and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
