The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tokyo: Otsuka A. (#4) and Tokyo HT (#3). Tokyo HT was defeated at home 84-89 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The guests trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 23-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Otsuka A. shot 21 for 28 from the free-throw line, while Tokyo HT only scored five points from the stripe. Otsuka A. forced 19 Tokyo HT turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Tokyo HT helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for swingman Shuichiro Samejima (188-87) who led his team to a victory with 27 points. American power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Carl Hall (203-89, college: Wichita St.) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Tokyo HT. Five Tokyo HT players scored in double figures. Otsuka A. have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 12-8 record. Tokyo HT at the other side keeps the third place with seven games lost. Otsuka A.'s supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tokyo to the arena Tokyo Cinq R..
