Undefeated Byblos (3-1) recorded its first loss in Beirut. Visitors were defeated by seventh ranked Al Riyadi (2-2) 92-86. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Byblos. Al Riyadi made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. The winners were led by Serbian swingman Branko Cvetkovic (200-84, agency: AproK Sports Group) who scored that evening 31 points and 5 rebounds and the former international swingman Jean Abdel Nour (198-83) supported him with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Al Riyadi players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 29 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks by Nigerian forward Ndudi Ebi (206-84) did not help to save the game for Byblos. International Jasmon Youngblood (195-84, college: Kent St.) added 23 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Byblos at the other side keep the second position with one game lost. They share it with Tadamon. Al Riyadi will play against higher ranked Tadamon (#3) in Zouk in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Byblos will play at home against Hoops Club and hope to get back on the winning track.
