Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Brescia (5-7) was defeated on the road by third ranked Umana Venezia (9-3) 78-70. Brescia was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Umana Venezia forced 19 Brescia turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a good game for Greek-American swingman Michael Bramos (196-87, college: Miami, OH) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 5 rebounds. Canadian-Nigerian forward Melvin Ejim (200-91, college: Iowa St.) contributed with 16 points and 6 assists for the winners. Umana Venezia's coach Walter De Raffaele allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Marcus Landry (201-85, college: Wisconsin) replied with 19 points and naturalized American forward Christian Burns (203-85, college: Philadelphia) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Brescia. Umana Venezia have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Newly promoted Brescia dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. Umana Venezia's next round opponent will be Openjobmetis VA (#14) in Varese which should be an easy win for them. Brescia will play at home against Dolomiti En.
