Regular Season Round 11: Perth - Adelaide 102-52

Bottom-ranked Adelaide Lightning (0-14) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 102-52 loss to third ranked Perth Lynx (9-5) in Perth. The game without a history. Perth Lynx led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Perth Lynx forced 25 Adelaide Lightning turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Perth Lynx brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. American swingman Samantha Whitcomb (178-88, college: Washington) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. New Zealand guard Antonia Edmondson (181-87) contributed with 24 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Perth Lynx players scored in double figures. American forward Colleen Planeta (188-88, college: Point Loma) answered with 17 points and power forward Tayla Roberts (191-93) added 13 points in the effort for Adelaide Lightning. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Perth Lynx maintains third place with 9-5 record having just three points less than leader Dandenong. Adelaide Lightning at the other side still closes the standings with 14 games lost. Perth Lynx will play against Sydney Uni Flames (#4) at home in the next round. Adelaide Lightning will play against Sydney Uni Flames (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
