Regular Season Round 24: Toyota A. - Chanson V-M 66-87

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Toyota A. (18-4) against fourth ranked Chanson V-M (14-8) on Sunday night. Host Toyota A. was crushed by Chanson V-M in Nagoya 87-66. The game was mostly controlled by Chanson V-M. Toyota A. was better in third quarter 24-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-22 charity shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Chanson V-M outrebounded Toyota A. 43-32 including 23 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Chikae Uchino (176-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and international forward Sanae Motokawa (175-92) who added 20 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Chanson V-M players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Saki Mizushima (171-91) with 23 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and forward Mayi Na (181-93) scored 6 points and 8 rebounds. Toyota A.'s coach Don Beck gave up on the game allowing to play thirteen players seeing no chance for a win. Chanson V-M maintains fourth position with 14-8 record, which they share with Mitsubishi K. Toyota A. at the other side keeps the second place with four games lost.
