Regular Season Round 8: Petrochimi - Chemidor 94-75

Leader Petrochimi delivered the seventh victory. This time they crushed 6th ranked Chemidor (4-4) 94-75 in Bandar Imam. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Chemidor. The game was mostly controlled by Petrochimi. Chemidor was better in fourth quarter 34-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Petrochimi dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Chemidor's 30. American point guard Gerald Robinson (185-89, college: Georgia) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. International power forward Rouzbeh Arghavan (214-88, agency: Three Eye Sports) contributed with 23 points (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) for the winners. Four Petrochimi players scored in double figures. American guard Daequan Cook (195-87, college: Ohio St.) replied with 31 points and 4 assists and Lithuanian power forward Povilas Cukinas (210-83) added 15 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Chemidor. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains first position with 7-1 record. Chemidor at the other side dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with Tabriz. Petrochimi will play against bottom-ranked Shiraz a.s Pipe (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Chemidor will play against Kashan (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
