The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked Ciudad's (6-15) road loss to eighth ranked Abejas (8-13) 68-69 on Monday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 69-68. Ciudad was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Steffphon Pettigrew (196-89, college: W.Kentucky, agency: HMS) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 7 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and naturalized American Eder Zuniga (190-87, college: Carroll, MT) who added 8 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Forward Jorge Camacho (203-89, college: E.Kentucky) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and American swingman Marcus Morrison (198-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Ciudad's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Abejas maintains eighth position with 8-13 record. Ciudad lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 15 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
