Regular Season Round 5: Moutahed - Louaize 88-91

The biggest surprise of round 5 was guest Louaize's (3-2) road victory over Al Moutahed (#6) 91-88 on Monday evening. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-88. Louaize made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was international guard Geron Johnson (190-92, college: Memphis) who scored 29 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. American center Wendell Lewis (208-89, college: Alabama St., agency: HMS) chipped in 21 points and 5 steals (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Louaize players scored in double figures. American guard Dewarick Spencer (192-82, college: Arkansas St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) produced 31 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists and the other American import forward Will Daniels (202-86, college: Rhode Island) added 25 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Al Moutahed's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Louaize moved-up to third place, which they share with Al Riyadi and Tadamon. Al Moutahed at the other side keeps the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Sagesse and Mayrouba. Louaize is looking forward to face Sagesse (#8) in Beirut in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Al Moutahed will play on the road against Tadamon in Zouk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
