Regular Season Round 11: Flamengo - B.Cearense 88-94

Date: December 20, 2016
The most surprising game was the first loss of Flamengo (7-1) in Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday night. Hosts were defeated by tenth ranked SKY/Basquete (5-5) 94-88. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Flamengo. It was a great evening for the former international point guard David Rossetto (180-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. The former international center Leonardo Klassmann (208-89) helped adding 14 points and 12 rebounds. The former international forward Olivinha Rodriguez (203-83) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the former international Marcelo Machado (201-75, agency: Interperformances) scored 18 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SKY/Basquete moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Franca and Minas. Defending champion Flamengo still keeps top position with one game lost. SKY/Basquete is looking forward to face Macae (#14) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Flamengo will play against Universo/Vitoria (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
